Facility Use Guidelines

Building use hours are 8 am to 10 pm. All events are expected to be kept within the timetable requested. No one from the renting party can remain in the building after the scheduled end time.

Crossroads Church provides an Onsite Manager who opens, closes, and secures the building. If temperatures in the rented space are uncomfortable, please ask the Onsite Manager to adjust the heat or air conditioning systems as well as report any maintenance issues or concerns.

Before the event, available tables and chairs can be set up according to the renting group/individual’s needs. Only the spaces agreed upon in the contract may be used for an event.  These requests must be made at least one week in advance. Due to volunteer limitations, requests made within 24 hours of your event may not be accommodated.

The kitchen is available for serving food prepared offsite. The renting group/individuals are asked to bring all of their consumables. Any food brought onsite must be removed after your event. If you use a caterer, the caterer is responsible for furnishing all equipment (dishes, silver, tablecloths, food storage, serving needs, etc.).

Decorations: Blue painters’ tape and grip strips are recommended for decorating. Nails, screws, or glue may not be used on the walls, carpet, furniture, tile floors, or woodwork to set up decorations. Lighted candles are not permitted unless battery-operated.

Rented areas should be clear of trash and materials. Please wipe off countertops, tables, and clean any spills on the floors. Tables should be left ready to be put away. Trash can be gathered up and placed in the maintenance room off the kitchen.

Illegal drug usage, firearms, and fireworks are not allowed on church property.

The renting group/individuals shall be held responsible for all loss or damage to church property during the rental period. Failure to comply may result in the inability to use our facilities in the future and possible legal recourse.

Injury/Damage – Crossroads Church of Kansas City may not be held responsible in any way whatsoever for any injury, loss of life or property, or damage to property incurred in the building, on the ground, or in the parking lot. The user assumes full responsibility for such eventualities during the time he/she/they is at Crossroads Church of Kansas City.

Indemnity and Hold Harmless – The user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Crossroads Church from and against all claims, demands, and actions, including counsel fees and other costs defending against the same for loss, damage, or facilities by the user, its members, guests or invitees.

Safe Child Policy – Children on church property must have adult supervision. Youth groups using the facility must have adequate adult supervision.

The beliefs and objectives of the renting group/individual and the activities conducted on church property must not conflict with the mission and values of the church (View Mission and Values Here). Organizations engaged in partisan political campaigns are not eligible to use church facilities for their programs. Crossroads Church reserves the right to accept or deny requests for the use of church facilities and to cancel or modify established agreements in the church’s best interests in regards to property management, requirements for use of the facilities for church activities, church relationships with governmental organizations, and any organization not in agreement with church beliefs or practices.

Emergency-scheduling conflicts may arise. The church will work in good faith to ensure that users who may be affected will have ample time to relocate within the facility if possible, yet Crossroads Church does hold the right to terminate this agreement should the need arise. If this occurs, all deposits and fees collected before the event will be refunded.
